Watercolor Explorations

In this section I want to highlight how watercolor often seems to have a mind of its own. Learning to allow the water, pigment, and paper to interact is a key to using this medium in a way that highlights its natural beauty and playfulness. Each of these pieces, whether completely experimental or representational, highlights this playfulness. Look for the way the water has blended the colors of pigment, and the way the sediment of the various pigments settle into the surface of the paper. Seriously, this is such a part of the joy of painting in watercolor!
